I'll be running the Hong Kong Standard Chartered Half Marathon for The Women's Foundation in January 2026 and would love your support!
For over 20 years, The Women's Foundation in Hong Kong has existed to promote gender equality and worked towards empowering women from different backgrounds and ages to ensure that they have the resources and support to maximize their potential through research, education and various programs.
These include programs in which they partner with underprivileged schools to promote and encourage girls to spark interest and pursue careers and education in STEM. Other initiatives include mentoring programs to educate and help promote women into entering leadership positions, and programs involving men to bring awareness of the issue of gender equality and to try to change zero sum thinking.
Women's issues do not only involve women, they affect everyone and everything around us. As a small business owner and a full time working mother to a 10 year old girl, the issues of gender equality, bringing awareness to the challenges that women face in everyday life, providing education to girls and young women to help open up opportunities and ensure they strive to their full potential are issues that are close to my heart.
I feel that one of the most important things is to challenge and change zero sum thinking - the misconception that promoting women means taking away from men. Advocating for gender equality is beneficial to everyone - research has shown that it increases productivity, increases revenues for businesses and helps with talent retention.
I'm excited to participate in this race to help raise funds and awareness for a worthy cause that I wholeheartedly support.

* The Women's Foundation received its charitable status in 2004 pursuant to Section 88 of the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Ordinance as charity number 91/6962. A tax-exempt receipt will be issued to donor for donations over $100 or more.
