I’ve never been a runner — in fact, this will be my first time ever attempting 10K. But as I start training toward this goal, I realise this run isn’t just about building strength and endurance — it’s about what it represents and the message it carries.

After taking a career break to raise my family, I found myself on a journey to relaunch my career in energetic, vibrant Hong Kong. Careers, like roads, are rarely straightforward — they have turns, crossroads, and unexpected twists. I’m on a mission to take control of my path and reach the next destination with purpose and confidence.

Running this race for The Women’s Foundation (TWF) mirrors that personal mission. Like many women returning to the workforce, I know what it means to rebuild after a pause — to balance ambition with care and to push through self-doubt to reclaim your confidence. TWF’s work to empower women and girls, create re-entry pathways, and champion inclusion deeply resonates with my story and the future I want to help build.

Every kilometre I run is a step toward a more inclusive and equal Hong Kong — one where women’s journeys, both conventional and unconventional, are celebrated as sources of strength. This isn’t just a race; it’s a personal challenge, a statement of resilience, and a commitment to keep moving forward — for myself, and for every woman finding her way back.
