Join The Women’s Foundation’s Efforts to Support Tai Po Baptist Public School Community Post Fire
The devastating fire in Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po a few weeks ago has impacted thousands and left a profound mark on the community. Recovery will be a long process over the months to come.
Tai Po Baptist Public School (TPBPS), the closest primary school to Wang Fuk Court - and the only school to remain closed - faces significant challenges:
- 28 affected households: 31 students and 1 teacher from TPBPS live in the damaged blocks, and need immediate and mid-term support
- Operational disruption: The school principal, teachers and staff cannot access the school for an uncertain period, creating equipment shortages and unexpected costs for students to resume classes at different locations
To help, The Women's Foundation is raising funds to:
- Provide direct financial support to affected students, teacher, and their families.
- Establish an emergency fund to cover unforeseen expenses for students to resume classes at different locations.
To do so, we need your help. Funds raised will go directly to the school and affected families. No administrative cost will be deducted by TWF. For more information on TPBPS’ situation please read this article.

Where is my money going?
Your donation will be used to:
Provide direct financial assistance to the 28 households from the Tai Po Baptist Public School (TPBPS) community who live in the blocks damaged by the fire and need immediate and mid-term support
Contribute to an emergency fund for the school which will help them cover unforeseen costs as the school navigates this difficult transitional period.
No administrative cost will be deducted by TWF
Why is this school specifically in need?
TPBPS is the closest primary school to the fire that occurred in
Wang Fuk Court and is the only school that remains closed. With 28
affected households in that school community, the lives of these
women, children and their families have been profoundly disrupted
and support is needed. Additionally, the principal, teachers, and
staff cannot access the school building for an uncertain period,
creating equipment shortages and unexpected costs for resuming
classes at different locations

Are any administrative costs deducted from my donation?
Your donation will go directly to support the cause. No administrative cost will be deducted by TWF. Funds will be split between:
- Direct aid (e.g., groceries, essential supplies) for the 28 affected families.
- Emergency fund for the school for unforeseen costs like equipment, transportation, and other expenses of operating from temporary locations.
How is the fund being managed and distributed?
The funds are being managed directly by TPBPS who will
distribute funds to affected families as direct aid
and allocate remaining funds to the school for operational expenses
during this period of uncertainty.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, The Women’s Foundation is a registered Hong Kong
non-for-profit organisation so your donation of HK$100 or above is
tax-deductible. You will receive a receipt for your records after donating.

We accept all major credit/debit cards, PayPal, PayMe, FPS, bank
transfers and cheques

Can I donate anonymously?
Yes. During the checkout process on the fundraising platform,

Will my contribution be recognised publicly?
We would be honoured to thank our supporters. With your
permission, which you can grant during donation or by contacting us on
finance@twfhk.org, we may
recognise your contribution on our social media channels and in our
2025 Annual Report. You can also choose to donate anonymously.
I want to help, but I can't donate right now. Are there any opportunities to volunteer with the school? Or how else can I support?
Whilst the school is very busy to cope with their transitional arrangements, there are no current volunteer opportunities. Please contact development@twfhk.org to express your interest. We will contact you in case the school have need for skilled volunteers or in-kind donations in the future.
