GCT Educational Fund (GCTEF) is established in 2016 under the charitable organisation Gurkha Cemeteries Trust (GCT). The objective of GCTEF is to empower and support Hong Kong ethnic minority students providing alternative pathway and opportunities offering online high school diploma and university degree program to pursue higher education, who are deprived from quality professional resources and support by the existing education institutes and systems of Hong Kong.

Under this project in the partnership with Southern Utha University and Penn Foster High School, GCT Education fund is providing online high school and university degree program for the Hong Kong ethnic minority students to enter tertiary education, who could not get placement in local universities due to requirement of high benchmark for the admission and don't recognized high school diploma graduate from their native countries. This GCTEF provides the partial scholarship for those students who can not afford full tuition fees.

GCTEF Project Impact 

In the 7 years of this project, GCTEF has helped 12 students graduate with a high school diploma and 15 students enroll in online undergraduate bachelor’s degree programs. This academic year, 10 students earned a high school diploma, and 4 students graduated with a bachelor’s degree.

They have progressed under this programs and demonstrated exceptional academic performance. Their average GPA is 3.00. Their performance has proven that they have ability and potential, and without the opportunity to study in the online programs, they would not be able to continue their higher education for tertiary education and develop their potential skills.
