The Cancer Fund helps to ensure no one faces cancer alone. They offer yoga programs to help people with cancer feel calmer and less anxious. Please help me support them. At the Cancer Fund we believe that overcoming cancer takes more than medicine alone. Cancer patients and survivors who exercise can potentially benefit from reduced levels of fatigue, and improved quality of life, physical function, and maintaining a healthy weight. It can help them to tolerate treatment, endure side effects, reduce anxiety and increase mental fortitude.
Our specialised yoga classes help cancer patients manage the side-effects from cancer. We have classes that are tailored for breast cancer patients to help relieve muscle spasms, tightness under arms, in the chest, as well as preventing the occurrence of lymphoedema (swelling of the limbs due to lymphatic blockage as a side effect of surgery).
Our yoga classes cover an array of topics. Last year we provided nearly 250 classes throughout Hong Kong and developed new programmes to include: ‘Yoga Stretching’, ‘Yoga for Neck and Shoulder Pain, ‘Yoga for Sciatica’, Yoga for Healthy Posture’, ‘Yoga for Better Immunity’ and a Yoga and Mindfulness Workshop.
